Com­ment: As part of the events for the XXIV Feria Inter­na­cio­nal del Libro Mon­te­rrey 2014 (Mon­te­rrey Book Fair), Cine­te­ca Nue­vo Leon held a scree­ning of the expe­ri­men­tal short film ‘On the Road’ by Jack Kerouac (2013) by Mexi­can film­ma­ker Jor­ge Loren­zo. The event inclu­ded a 35mm film ins­ta­lla­tion of the pie­ce and the artist’s pre­sen­ce for com­ments and Q&A. Addi­tio­nally, the fea­tu­re length film On the Road (2012) by Bra­zi­lian film­ma­ker Wal­ter Salles was pro­gram­med as an accom­pa­ni­ment to the event.

Com­ment: When invi­ted to cura­te a series of shows on expe­ri­men­tal film and video from Mexi­co at Cine­ma­te­ca Dis­tri­tal in Bogo­ta, I was asked to inclu­de a pro­gram of my own per­so­nal work con­sis­ting of short films and one 16mm film ins­ta­lla­tion. The scree­ning fea­tu­red a dis­cus­sion of the pie­ces pre­sen­ted and a brief Q&A.
